Staff of the SOUTH DOWNS JOINT COMMITTEE, the fore Staff of the SOUTH DOWNS JOINT COMMITTEE, the forerunner organisation that helped to prepare the establishment of a South Downs National Park, photographed in June 2010 at one of its final meetings.
Only a few of the former SDJC staff continue to work for the South Downs National Park Authority to this day.

Lord Renton was for ten years Chairman of the South Downs Joint Committee, the forerunner organisation to the South Downs National Park Authority and a strong advocate for granting the South Downs AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) National Park status.
